Pictures: see how the construction works at the Baixada Arena are progressing

With capacity for 41 thousand people, the refurbishment of the stadium will cost R$ 234 million. Delivery date has been set for June 2013

Stage of four 2014 World Cup matches, the refurbishment works of the Baixada Arena in Curitiba started in October 2011.  At the end of last year, internal interventions, such as the removal of the old rooftop cover, began to be carried out at the stadium, which belongs to Atlético Paranaense football club.

At the end of June, the construction works started a new stage, with six blocks being concreted in, which are part of the second ring and the grounds' new structure. The construction works of the Baixada Arena have reached the 53.27% conclusion mark, figure that takes into consideration 40% of structures that are ready and 13.27% of the refurbishment works that have been finished. With 41 thousand people capacity, the stadium will have investments in the order of R$ 234 million and a request has been made for R$ 123 million in federal financing, which is being analysed by the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). The ground’s delivery date is June 2013.
