Holland beats Mexico 2-1 with a penalty in stoppage time

The Dutch will play Costa Rica, who beat Greece at the Pernambuco Arena in Recife

This Sunday (29.06), the Dutch beat Mexico 2-1 at the Castelão Arena in Fortaleza. Mexico opened the score in front of a 58,817 strong crowd at the beginning of the second half. Giovani dos Santos hit a powerful shot from outside of the box, giving the Dutch keeper no chance. Holland equalised in the 87th minute with a great effort by Sneijder, after Hunterlaar – who had come on for Van Persie - had got his head to the ball. In stoppage time, Robben won a penalty, which was converted by Huntelaar.

Holland will now play Costa Rica, who beat Greece this Sunday at the Pernambuco Arena in Recife. The quarter-final match is scheduled to take place on 5 July at the Fonte Nova Arena in Salvador.
