Construction works schedule will be sped up to 6% a month, starting August

Stage of three 2013 Confederations Cup matches and five 2014 World Cup games, the Pernambuco Arena reached 48.6% rate of conclusion at the end of June, according to the Extraordinary Secretariat for the World Cup (SECOPA-PE). Those in charge of the building works, which are being done in the São Lourenço da Mata region, 19 km away from Recife, also announced that starting August, several measures will be taken to speed up the project. The goal is for 6% of the building works to be concluded every month in order to meet the final deadline established by FIFA: February 2013.

At this rate, 80% of the stadium should be ready by November, when FIFA will conduct its final monitoring visit to confirm the host cities of the Confederations Cup. Currently, 4,050 builders are at work at the grounds.
