Brazil beats Sweden once again at the Rasunda Stadium

In the replay of the 1958 World Cup final, Brazil beat Sweden 3-0 at the stage where they won their first world title. This was the last international match played at the stadium, which will be demolished

Fifty-five years after Brazil won its first world title, the team famous for its yellow jerseys faced Sweden again at the Rasunda Stadium, in Stockholm's metropolitan region. The team wore a replica of the blue jersey they won in the 1958 final, when the Brazilians beat the Swedish 5-2 and won their first World Cup. Brazil’s goals came from Leandro Damião in the first half and Alexandre Pato (2) in the second.

The match played this Wednesday was the last international game to be held at the Rasunda Stadium. It will be demolished at the end of the year and give way to a new ground. Pelé, Pepe, Mazzola and Zito, who played for Brazil in the 1958 tournament, appeared to be moved when they visited the stage where they won the world title this Tuesday (14.08) and met up with their Swedish opponents. The Queen of Sweden paid homage to them at a gala dinner.
